Grand Finale in Priekuļi: What You Need to Know Before the Start

The season’s TOP 20 will be the first to hit the course! The top 20 runners in each distance, based on the season ranking, will start in a pursuit format — one by one, with a set starting interval for each distance. The ranking leader will go first, and the rest will set off to catch them.

The second starting wave will include participants who have taken part in at least three Stirnu Buks stages this season, regardless of which distances they have raced.

This year, the GARMIN Lūsis distance will be split into two parts. First, the Lūsis runners will complete the VENDEN Stirnu Buks loop. When the Buks runners turn onto the finishing straight, the Lūsis runners will continue onto the Zaķis loop. Only after completing that loop will they reach the finish.

This also means two attempts at the King and Queen of the Mountain segment. For Lūsis runners, we will count the slower of the two sprint times towards the points classification. In other words — you’ll have to conquer the climb twice!

For teams: in the Grand Finale standings, we will use each participant’s net race time — from their individual start time to the finish.

Some will have to run. Some will have to chase. Some will have to defend what they’ve earned over the season. Some will have one last card to play. And for those who couldn’t care less about rankings, points, and seconds, the most important thing remains the same — one more chance this year to meet your tribe and run wild in Mūsmežs!
