Latvijas valsts mežu Stirnu buks

LVM Nature Park in Tērvete is one of the most popular and family‑friendly destinations in Latvia. The park covers approximately 1,200 ha, of which one-third is occupied by the Fairy Tale World. The park’s most popular areas, which require at least three hours to explore, are the Fairy Tale Forest, the Attractions Playground, and the Gnomes’ Forest.

The establishment of the Nature Park as a specially protected natural area along the banks of the Tērvete River Valley was determined by the region's unusually hilly landscape and its rich cultural heritage.

The Tērvete Nature Park, with its well-maintained trails, the characters of fairy-tale writer Anna Brigadere, scenic viewpoints, and interesting attractions, has long been one of the most popular tourist destinations in Zemgale, especially well suited for family visits.

In Tērvete Forest, you can enjoy both a journey through nature and a journey through Latvia’s history — you’ll also learn about the ancient power of the Semigallians, with traces preserved across three ancient hillforts.

The Stirnu Buks series has jumped through Tērvete three times — in 2018, 2019, and 2022. Tērvete still holds the record for the most attended trail running events in Latvia — on April 27, 2019, 4,928 trail runners participated here! As usual, the Mūsmeža Forest Maintenance Team will be joined by the legendary local trail expert Juris Redisons, with special thanks to the park’s caretaker Kristaps Didže.

See you in the Fairy Tale Forest!
