In the Tukums area, Stirnu Buks has been jumping nearly every year since the series began in 2014, with the forests of Vilkači, the Šlokenbeka Manor trails, and Milzkalns paths explored in the most unimaginable variations.
Following last season’s tradition in Valmiera of exploring city trails, a local from Tukums — last year’s Tukums District Sports Laureate in the category “Active Ambassador of Popular Sports”, Gints Konošonoks, also known as Mežavecis Šoko, as he’s commonly called in Mūsmežs, has tried to infuse his stage with the feeling of his hometown. Throughout the season, Šoko tirelessly maintains the trails and distances — marking, remarking, and sweeping them.
Once a season, in the Tukums area, Gints also plans the trails, promising to show Tukums from completely unexpected perspectives. Being a gentle-natured person himself, he fully agrees with poet Imants Ziedonis: “Nowhere is as beautiful as Tukums!” — especially when it comes to finding a particularly tricky hill to run up yourself or lure your “Tukums skrien!” teammates onto. And now, he’ll also entice visitors to Tukums!
See you on the TukumSmukumTrails!
