RULES AND REGULATIONS

Aims

To lead the participants of the trail run series into the breathtakingly scenic Latvian forest trails - introducing them to the surroundings where every human becomes better, friendlier and more open.

To encourage every Latvian to run into the woods!

To promote a healthy, active and sporty lifestyle.

Organizers

Trail run series “Stirnu buks 2019″, hereinafter Trail Run, is organized by the sports association “Engures sportam”.

1.Distances

1.1. Trail running takes place on a number of different roads and tracks (asphalt, gravel roads, forest roads, trails, quarter sturgeons, long trails, long-forgotten roads and off-roads).

1.2. There are 5 different distances available for each Trail Run race:

distance "Dormouse": ~ 1km children race up to age 10,

distance "Squirrel": 4-6km,

distance "Hare": 10-13km,

distance "Roe Buck": 18-23km,

distance "Bob Cat": 27-35km.

1.3. Participants of the distances "Hare", "Roe Buck" and "Bob Cat" enter an additional competition for the title of the "Roe Buck Mountain King and Queen", where on a selected part of the track (200-600 m) special controls are conducted to determine the participants who have performed fastest at this selected location.

1.4.The Race tracks are marked with signs and warning information!

1.5. There is No time control in the distance "Dormouse," hence there are no prizes or awards for this category! All the participants in the "Dormouse" receive a medal for finishing and sweet treats.

1.6. The results of the "Squirrel", "Hare", "Roe Buck" and "Bob Cat" distances are recorded using electronic time control system.

2.Participants and age groups

2.1. Participants in the "Dormouse" distance are up to 10 years old;

2.2. There is no age limit for the distance "Squirrel";

2.3. Participants from the age of 8 are allowed to participate in the "Hare" distance;

2.4. Participants from the age of 16 are allowed to participate in the "Roe Buck" distance;

2.5. Participants from the age of 18 are allowed to participate in the "Bob Cat".

2.6. The Participant or his/her guardian assumes full responsibility for the participant's state of health and its compliance with the distance chosen. The assumed responsibility is and confirmed by his signature upon the receipt of the participant's registration number. The organizers of the race are not responsible for any injuries or accidents obtained during the race.

2.7. Organizers are responsible for and provide medical assistance to the participants at the start/finish line as well as upon requirement during the race.

2.8. The participants in the "Hare", "Roe Buck" and "Bob Cat" distances are divided into the following age groups:

 3.Time and place of the Trail Run

3.1. The competition takes place:

  • 30th of March, 2019, “Roe Buck along the Coastline”, – Carnikava district, a precise location of Start and Finish will be announced
  • 27th of April, 2019, “Roe Buck of the Tērvete Forest”, Latvian State Forests National Park inTērvete, Tērvete district, Latvia;
  • 8th of June, 2019 “Roe Buck of Kalnsētas”, start and finish– Open-air stage of Kalnsētas park Saldus, Latvia;
  • 6th of July, 2019 “Roe Buck of Pilssala”, start and finish – The Open-air stage of Pilssala, Alūksne, Latvia;
  • 17th of August, 2019, “Seaside Roe Buck”, start and finish– Water park “Piejūra”, Ventspils, Latvia;
  • 7th of September, 2019, “Roe Buck of Krimulda”, start and finish – Krimulda manor, Krimulda district, Latvia;
  • 5th of October, 2019, “Roe Buck of Vendene”, start and finish –  Cēsis – a precise location of Start and Finish will be announced

 4.Registration

4.1. Registration of participants for individual competitions takes place on the Internet starting from January 7, 2019 at www.stirnubuks.lv under the "Register" section. Registration on the Internet is closed before each respective race on Thursday at 12:00!

4.2. The last minute registration is also possible on the race day at the race centre in the morning before the start, last minute registration closes 30 minutes before the start time of each distance.

4.3. Participation fee includes participant's number bib, first medical aid at the venue, track markers and fees for judges' work, organization of the event, catering and drinking points on the route, catering after the finish, commemorative medal for all finishers at one of the distances, car park, free photo gallery and video review on the competition website, recording the race results for the participants of the distances "Squirrel", "Hare", "Roe Buck" and "Bob Cat".

4.4. Participants may change their requested distance or change the registered participant against another participant or transfer the Participation fee to the next stage (by sending an e-mail), these change must be registered no later than 12:00 on the Tuesday of the race week. Changes are made FREE OF CHARGE!

4.5. All changes that are submitted later must be made on the Race Day at the Reception Tent "New Registration". A new number with a new timing chip will be issued to the Participant, for which an additional fee of 5, - EUR will be charged.

4.6. From November 7, 2018 to January 31, 2019, participants can purchase the Season Ticket for the race season 2019 . The Season Ticket subscription covers the participation fee of all 7 stages, however it is not tied to a specific distance. Anyone who buys a subscription will receive a special "Roe Buck" jersey shirt at no additional cost.

4.8. The owner of the Season Ticket subscription confirms the chosen distance before each race via an electronic submission form sent to the Organizer until Tuesday of the race week, 12:00 PM.

4.9. The subscription is tied to a particular person. It is not transferable for use by another person!

4.10. Season subscription purchase price:* 90 EUR - until 31.12.2018.* 100 EUR, -from 01.01.2019 until 31.01.2019**

Reduced price: 80 EUR, - for the 2018 season subscribers and to the season 2018 Top 10 winning teams' members.

5.Membership fees

5.2. When registering on the competition website, payment must be made by transfer or with a bank payment card. The participation fee must be paid by the date of the change in the price of each stage.

5.3. The payment order must indicate the participant's name and / or participant's registration number in the registration system (sent by e-mail after registration)

5.4. If the "Invoice Required" is ticked when registering on the competition website, it is prepared and sent to the indicated e-mail.

5.5 You may also register for a higher fee on the competition day at the competition center, last minute registration closes 30 minutes before the start time of the respective distance paying by a bank payment card, however, you should keep in mind that the mobile network and / or cash may not always be available at the competition center:

15 EUR -  for participants of the distances "Dormouse" and the School Championship;

25 EUR  -for the participants of the distances "Squirrel" and "Hare";

30 EUR - for the participants of the distance "Roe Buck" and "Bobcat".

5.5 Participants will only be registered after the payment has been received.

5.6. If the participation fee is not received on the day before the competition, it must be payed on the day of the race, as indicated in paragraph 5.5.,5.7. Entry fee is transferable to:

6.Awarding

  • The winners are awarded with the prizes provided by our sponsors. The first, second and third places in the categories of men and women in the distances "Squirrel", "Hare", "Roe Buck" and "Bobcat" as well as 1st- 3rd place winners in the age groups mentioned in the competition In clause 2.8 for the participants of "Hare", "Roe Buck" and "Bobcat" are rewarded.

In the final stage, the winners of the Season Overall Ranking are rewarded.

Total score in individual account

7.1. Each "Stirnu Buks" race is a separate race.

7.2. Participants will have the opportunity to fight for victory in the overall ranking of the competition in 3 different distances - "Hare", "Roe Buck" or "Bob Cat", where the best 5 results of each participant on a given distance will be evaluated! The overall score will be determined by summing the points earned in one distance. In the event of the same result, the highest score is awarded to the participant who earned more points in the final stage of the series.

7.3. The winner of the "Hare", "Roe Buck" and "Bobcat" races scores 1000 points; the result of each subsequent participant is calculated according to the following formula: the winner's time is divided by the time shown by each participant and multiplied by 1000.

7.4. The winner of the "Roe Buck's King and Queen of the Hills" sprint stage (all participants of the distances "Hare", "Roe Buck" and "Bobcat" take part) will score 300 points; the result of each subsequent participant will be calculated according to the following formula: the winner's time is divided by the number presented by each participant time and multiplied by 300.

7.5. The sum of points scored in both the distance and the sprint stage is counted in the total score. At each stage, the maximum possible score is 1300.

7.6. The unofficial rating of the overall race is also published in the framework of the Sprint stage "Roe Buck's King and Queen of the

8.Overall rating in team ranking

8.1. Participants can apply for teams consisting of 4-12 participants to participate in the team's overall ranking. The team is registered: https://www.stirnubuks.lv/registracijas-done-kom/

8.2. In order to participate in the team score, at least 4 players participating in one of the distances "Hare", "Roe Buck", "Bobcat" must start at each stage in each team.

8.3. One participant can only be registered in one team. The team represented during the season can not be changed! The team may be added to the full season during the season by notifying additional members to info@stirnubuks.lv not later than one week before the current competition.

8.4. The total score of the teams is calculated by evaluating the points won by the team members in each race, including the highest points in the overall score from the 2 team members regardless of gender, who participate in the distance "Bobcat" (distances won + sprint stage), 2 team members participating in the distance "Roe Buck"(distances won + sprint points earned) and 2 teams participating in the "Hare "(distances won + sprint points earned).

8.5. The overall ranking of the teams takes into account the points won in all seasons of the season.

9.The Competition

9.1. Participants in each distance go with a total start. The winner is the first participant to finish the distance.

9.2. Competitions take place on tagged tracks. Labeling: blue-white indications and special warnings.

9.3 Municipal or State Police or National Guard officers are on duty at national level road crossings.

9.4.  There will be drinking water- points stationed through the race track.

9.5 There will be several checkpoints on the track, where the participants' results will be recorded.

9.6. In the event of a Participant's withdrawal, the event organizers do not ensure that the participant reaches the finish line. In the case of health problems, the assistance of judges and other participants of the race should be used to further address the problem and contact the

9.7. Catering - each participant will have the opportunity to receive a catering service after finishing the distance.

10.Control time

By the distance:

"Squirrel" - 2h,

"Hare" - 3h

"Roe Buck" - 4h,

"Bobcat" - 6h.

11.Publicity and Privacy

11.1. All the competition will be photographed and filmed.

11.2. By submitting to the competition, the participants confirm that the organizers have the right to use the photos and videos taken during the competition for public relations and promotional purposes without the consent of the people they see, and to offer participants the opportunity to download photos and videos.

11.3. By entering the competition, the participants confirm that they do not oppose the publication of the list of participants and the results on the competition website.

11.4. The participant's name, gender, and distance are listed on the publicly displayed list of participants.

12.Regulations

12.1. The number bib issued to the participant must be placed above the sports shirt. Damage, folding, painting the number bib or covering it with a sports bag / belt etc. is strictly prohibited.

12.2. For each participant of the "Squirrel", "Hare", "Roe Bucks" and "Bobcat" distances, a time control chip is issued with the participant's number. Time control is organized at the start, finish, as well as at the checkpoints on the track.

12.3. Each competitor, before signing up for registration, confirms with his signature that he assumes full responsibility for the compliance of his or her health with running distance. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by the person responsible for signing the application form. The organizers of the race are not responsible for possible injuries to participants during the race.

12.4 It is prohibited for bicycle racers to participate in the race during the running race, or by running alongside a competitor if the co-driver is not a competitor.

12.5 When applying for medical assistance to a competitor, the instructions of physicians regarding the compliance of the state of health with the distance should be respected.

12.6. All the players who will be caught cheating or abusing fair play principles and will not do their full distance will be disqualified. The inspection will be based on the time spent on the intermediate and on-track checkpoints, track judges and video monitoring.

12.7. Participants are asked not to litter on and around the track nor pollute nature and take care of the environment.

12.8. The race takes place in partly restricted traffic.

12.9. All road users must comply with road safety regulations!

12.10. Participants should be aware that vehicles can travel on the road from home, fields, meadows and forest roads.

12.11. Participants must be especially careful when crossing the roads!

12.12. The organizers are not responsible for possible clashes and traffic accidents during the race.

12.13. If an unplanned problem has occurred to any of the participants in the distance, the participants close-by are responsible for helping the hurt or injured participant.

 13.Disqualification and protests

13.1. Organizers have the right to disqualify a competitor if he fails to comply with the requirements of the norms of public order and the rules of the competition.

13.2. Organizers have the right to disqualify a competitor if it is clearly demonstrated that they are not able to continue participating in the competition.

13.3. Claims are accepted by the Organizers upon receiving a single pay of  EUR 30. If the claim is confirmed as valid, the payment will be returned to the claimant.

13.4. Claims are dealt with by the College of Judges.

14.Changes to the competition regulations

4.1. The organizers have the right to make changes and additions to the statute. Organizers announce changes to the rules of the competition in their communication channels - websites, social networks, e-mail contestants, indicating the nature of the changes. The organizers are not responsible if the participants haven't read and/or understood the regulations.
