Vasals Latgolā!!! (Hello in Latgale) Let’s discover Latgale anew - it was not easy for Stirnu Buks to keep this promise; however, what’s been said needs to be done! Styrnu buks was held in Latgale only once in 2016... It’s time to come back and do it in style!

"There is no similar place to this in the world" was once written by Jānis Klīdzējs. From a bird’s flight, the Rāzna National Park landscape presents a unique composition of hills and lakes. As we refer to them in Latvia, Hills are covered with forests, meadows, golden grain fields, and mirrors of smaller and bigger lakes between them. Rāzna and Ežezers lakes are most famous among tourists. The quiet Asareņš and other forest lakes fascinate by their specific charm. Our hills, encircled with bands of roads, invite you to come and explore and feel the national park landscape and the wisdom and hospitality of locals. The hills Mākoņkalns and Lielais Liepukalns are the most popular spots for enjoying the landscape.

Participants of the royal distance "Vilks” (Wolf) will start from the art nouveau pearl of Latgale - Lūznava manor. They will finish at the highest village of Latvia Dubuļi in Kaunata parish, Rēzekne district, where all other participants will have their runs! On the way we will visit an ancient Latgallian castle mound, as well as the vast Balda forest with Balda watermill, Vēžukrogs and also Mākoņkalns (also Padebešu hill) (249 m) and Volkenberga castle ruins (13th century), a terrace opening a great view over the Latgallian sea - Rāzna lake and the little Ubogovas lake. After the Wolf distance, there is an epic 10 km where participants will encounter Dzerkaļu hillLielais Liepukalns hill (289.3 m) which is the highest and the third highest topes in Latvia, and where there is the highest wooden watchtower in Latvia (34 m) presenting an impressive view to the nearby landscape, Rāznas lake and other lakes, Kromanu hill and Širinu hill.

Let’s consider that this is a protected nature area and a special privilege to stay in the Rāzna national park! Let’s not deviate from the labeled trail. We respect the environment and the rules here, helping to preserve the beauty around us.
