What is trail run?
Trail runs are runs that take place on roads and trails of different surfacing (asphalt – no more than 5 – 10% of the distance, rural roads with gravel surface, overgrown forest roads, forgotten paths and off-roads, firebreaks and pathways)
What is trail run series “Stirnu buks (Roebuck)’2017″?
Trail run series “Stirnu buks’2017″ runs will take place in splendid landscape environment – Zilie kalni (Blue Hills), Smecere pine forest, Veclaicene district, Pokaiņi forest, hill of Milzkalns and Āžu hill, Gauja National park and Liepāja Warport – with the paths and tracks endowed with prehistoric mystery which allow enjoying historic sites, numerous hillocks, mounds, ancient places of worship, deserted skiing trails, wild boar mud baths and other challenges of MotherNature!
Single one of 7 Trail runs is a separate race, however, participants still can compete in total evaluation of series.
Trail runs will take place:
April 15, 2017 – “Zilie kalni Roebuck”, OGRE;
May 27, 2017 – “Smecere pine forest Roebuck”, MADONA;
July 1, 2017 – “Korneti Roebuck”, ALŪKSNE DISTRICT;
July 29, 2017 – “Pokaiņi forest Roebuck”, DOBELE DISTRICT;
August 19, 2017 – “Milzkalns – Āžu kalns Roebuck”, MILZKALNE;
September 23, 2017 – “Gauja river valley Roebuck”, LĪGATNE;
October 21, 2017 – “Karosta Roebuck”, LIEPĀJA.
How long distances would be?
Every race of the Trail run offers 5 different distances for participants of every skill and endurance level.
“Susurs (Dormouse)” – children till the age of 10,
“Vāvere (Squirrel)” – for beginners,
“Zaķis (Bunny)” – for fast,
“Stirnu buks (Roebuck)” – for experienced,
“Lūsis (Bobcat)” – for strongest.
What is sprint section “Stirnu buka Kalnu karalis un Karaliene (King and Queen of Roebuck)”?
In every race title of “King and Queen of Stirnu buks” will be announced – not the one who runs up the hill first gets the title, but the one who will be the fastest in concrete section (200 – 600m). For the title “King and Queen of Stirnu buks” are competing only participants of distances “Bunny”, “Roebuck” and “Bobcat”.
How are the winners in total evaluation of “Stirnu buks’2017″ appointed?
Participants are able to compete for win in total evaluation of Trail run in 3 different distances – “Bunny”, “Roebuck” or “Bobcat” in which 5 best results of a participant in concrete distance will be taken in account! Total evaluation will be appointed by summing up points in one distance. In case of identical results higher place will get the runner who has earned more points in last race of the series.
Winner of distances “Bunny”, “Roebuck” and “Bobcat” gets 1000 points; result of every following participant is calculated by following formula – time of the winner is being divided with the time of every runner and multiplied by 1000.
Winner of sprint section “King and Queen of Stirnu buks” (all participants of distances “Bunny”, “Roebuck” and “Bobcat” take part in it) gets 300 points; result of every following participant is calculated by following formula – time of the winner is being divided with the time of every runner and multiplied by 300.
In total evaluation points both in distance and sprint section are taken in account and summed up. In every race you can get maximum 1300 points.
Unofficial total evaluation result will be published also for sprint section “King and Queen of Roebuck”. In total evaluation the highest score from five races is taken in account. In case of identical results higher place will get the runner who has earned more points in last race of the series.
Why should I get seasonal pass?
It is possible to register for every race separately in our homepage in section “Register” or at the day of the run at the race venue for extra charge.
If it is planned to take part at least in 5 races of Trail run, it is cheaper to purchase Seasonal pass for 2016, besides you will get special Asics Roebuck running shirt for free. Seasonal pass is not attached to a concrete distance. A week before every race the owner of Seasonal pass must confirm in which distance he or she is planning to run. Cost of seasonal pass is 70,- EUR, if you purchase it till December 31, 2016 and 80,- EUR, if you purchase it till January 31, 2017. When Seasonal pass is purchased, it’s owner will receive confirmation via e-mail with the number.
Form of the race?
This race is not only a race – it is also a pleasant entertainment all day long for the whole family! Art and nature exploring workshops, games for the little ones at the first part of the day, musical performances and lottery before the award ceremony, race village at start/finish zone.
